Die Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen betreut im Auftrag des Auswärtigen Amts die schulische Arbeit im Ausland. Weltweit werden rund 1.200 Schulen, darunter mehr als 140 Deutsche Auslandsschulen, unter Mitwirkung der Länder pädagogisch, personell und finanziell gefördert.

Seit über 35 Jahren ist die BEGEGNUNG das Magazin des deutschen Auslandsschulwesens, in dem Entwicklungen schulischer Arbeit nicht nur im Ausland, sondern auch in Deutschland beleuchtet werden. Pädagogisch relevante Themen von Inklusion über Lehrermangel bis zum Zentralabitur werden anschaulich dargestellt und unter Einbeziehung namhafter Experten diskutiert. Die BEGEGNUNG erscheint als Vierteljahresschrift mit einer Auflage von 15.500 Exemplaren. Auf der größten europäischen Bildungsmesse didacta werden zusätzlich 20.000 Exemplare verteilt. Das Magazin richtet sich an Entscheider aus Politik, Kultur und Wirtschaft, Vertreter Deutschlands im Ausland sowie Pädagogen im In- und Ausland.

The Central Agency for Schools Abroad oversees the school work abroad on behalf of the Foreign Office. Worldwide, approximately 1,200 schools, including more than 140 German schools abroad sponsored educational, composed of countries, personally and financially.

For over 35 years the ENCOUNTER is the magazine of the German schools abroad, are illuminated in the development of school work not only abroad, but also in Germany. Educationally relevant issues of inclusion on teacher shortages to Central High School are presented graphically and discussed, including renowned experts. The ENCOUNTER appears as quarterly journal with a circulation of 15,500 copies. At the largest European Education Fair didacta 20,000 copies distributed are additional. The magazine is aimed at decision makers from politics, culture and economy, German representatives abroad and educators at home and abroad.
